The beautiful garden is a major draw, providing an expansive outdoor area for relaxation and enjoyment. The homemade dish offerings, particularly the beef and ale pie, receive rave reviews for their rich flavors and generous portions. Children delight in the play area, allowing parents to unwind without worry. Plus, the diverse selection of local ales ensures that drink enthusiasts will find something that tickles their taste buds. I also love the occasional live music, making visits feel special and lively.
Some diners express disappointment when busy times lead to longer waits for food and drink, particularly during peak dining hours on weekends. A few patrons also mention that the indoor seating can get crowded, which might detract from the cozy atmosphere they sought. On rare occasions, noise levels from the play area can be distracting for those looking for a quiet dining experience. Finally, while the menu boasts numerous delicious options, some guests wish for more variety in the seasonal specials.
What an absolute gem of a pub and restaurant! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the cutest pub dog, who instantly made us feel at home. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with staff who don’t just serve you but actually take the time to have a laugh and a chat – it really adds to the charm. The gardens are stunning – spacious, beautifully kept, and perfect for families. The children’s play area is fantastic; the kids were having the time of their lives while we could sit back and enjoy the surroundings stress-free. And the food? Incredible. Every dish was cooked to perfection, packed with flavour, and beautifully presented. The drinks were even better – perfectly poured, refreshing, and just what we needed. If you’re looking for a place with a great vibe, delicious food and drinks, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay all day, this is it. We can’t wait to come back!
Amazing pub. Very friendly and lovely atmosphere. Had the homemade beef and ale pie and was incredible!!! Garden was huge with a stream running through it.
We're currently on holiday in the area and have been to this pub twice in a couple of days. First for Sunday lunch which was so great we had to come back mid week! Our second visit was just as amazing - we'll be back again before we go home. Incredible food and a lovely team. Thank you!
Dropped in here for dinner on a Tuesday evening as other pubs nearby were fully booked - and we were so glad this was the case. The pub looked great, and the service was quick and accommodating. Food was excellent with huge portions. The new owners only took over 12 weeks ago, and were so friendly and welcoming - chatting to the Landlord Richard, they are clearly working hard and doing great things for this pub. A fantastic meal and experience all round!
Just had a lovely meal at The Muddiford Inn. Food was very tasty and portion size was large. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, they were happy to chat and tell us about the pub. We will definitely be returning, it's a lovely little gem that we've found.
We stopped as my 7 year old daughter was unwell in the car. The owners let us use the facilities even though they wasn't quite open. They gave us cleaning products and things to clean our car down and helped us out. We went back the following week and had food . It is all amazing. A great set of community minded owners, great prices, great value and excellent food and drinks. Customers for life now. And thank you for helping us out!
Four of us called in for lunch during the week. Very friendly, good service, food and drink - could not ask for anything more. Did not give 100% across the board but no reservations upon anything. Value for money was good. Forgot to say it was a very clean establishment.
